State budget

UC’s state funding is still on the line.

Under Governor Newsom’s revised budget proposal, UC’s budget cut would be less than half of what was proposed in January. If lawmakers support his revised plan, it will help the University avoid the most immediate and severe impacts to our students, staff and faculty in a difficult budget year. Newsom recognizes that all Californians benefit when UC is positioned to educate the next generation of teachers, health care workers, and researchers.

UC advocates have spoken out loudly and clearly about why it’s so important to invest in the University – and it’s making a difference. But the work isn’t done. California still faces a multi-billion-dollar state deficit, and we need lawmakers to keep higher education a priority.

Lawmakers have received over 15,000 emails from the UC community – Let’s keep the momentum going.

Will you urge your representative to protect UC’s funding? Every email, every phone call, and every social media tag counts. Legislative offices track them all, and every action boosts UC’s visibility and influence in the Capitol. Now’s the time to rally, speak up, and show our elected officials that UC matters.
