Statement following UC President James B. Milliken’s August 25 and 26 meetings with California legislative leaders

University of California Senior Vice President of External Relations & Communications Meredith Vivian Turner released the following statement today (August 26) after UC President James B. Milliken’s August 25 and 26 meetings with California legislative leaders:

As the University of California faces unprecedented challenges, UC President James B. Milliken spent the last two days meeting with legislative leaders in Sacramento. The meetings covered a wide range of issues, including the far-reaching consequences of the federal government’s actions against UCLA and our continued partnership under the budget compact with the governor and Legislature. We appreciate state leaders’ continued support for UC, and we look forward to advancing our shared goals on behalf of the state and the hundreds of thousands of students, employees, and patients UC serves.
