University of California President Janet Napolitano will attend the Jan. 28 Oakland Promise launch event to express her support for the UC Oakland Partnership Program, aimed at increasing the college completion rate of Oakland public school graduates.
The event will take place on Thursday, Jan. 28, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at Oakland High School at 1023 MacArthur Blvd., Oakland, Calif.
Others scheduled to participate include: Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf, Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom, U.S. Under Secretary of Education Ted Mitchell and Oakland Unified School District Superintendent Antwan Wilson.
