    San Diego attorney, civic leader and philanthropist John G. Davies, regent emeritus of the University of California and former board chairman, was remembered Tuesday (May 24) by current regents Chair Russell S. Gould as "a man of integrity and honor, among the most esteemed individuals to have ever served on the board."

    Davies, a native of San Diego, died May 20 after a battle with cancer. He was 76.
