The 2017 UC Alumni Entrepreneur campaign expanded upon the success of 2016's campaign. Five finalists had the opportunity to attend the annual Global Corporate Venturing and Innovation (GCVI) Summit along with Christine Gulbranson, Senior Vice President and Chief Innovation Officer. Finalists presented to an audience of over 650 leading venture capitalists and investors.
As Gulbranson stated in a press release communicating the winner of the competition, “The UC community is full of entrepreneurs creating groundbreaking products and revolutionary companies. These finalists embody the bold range of innovative and forward-looking projects that our alumni are undertaking.” Dr. Sophia Yen of Pandia Health won the competition and took part in the Global Corporate Venturing Summit in London later in the year.
