Apply now: Champion student success by becoming the next Student Regent

The University of California Board of Regents is searching for the next student representative to serve on UC’s governing body. The Student Regent is a full voting member of the board, representing students across the university’s 10-campus system. This impactful role brings the voice of the student to every issue and decision before the board.

All UC students are eligible for this life-changing opportunity to influence the university and the future of UC. The Student Regent has the chance to visit students on all UC campuses, grow a network of state and UC leaders, and influence university policies. The position also comes with a full waiver of all tuition and fees during the two years of service.

“Serving as Student Regent is an incredible opportunity to shape priorities and policies that impact both current and future students, staff, and faculty across the UC system,” said current Student Regent Hayley Weddle.

“The Student Regent serves as the voice for over 280,000 undergraduate and graduate students at the highest level of university governance, providing critical perspective about students’ experiences. The position is a transformative advocacy opportunity open to any enrolled UC student.”

The Student Regent serves a one-year term as a full voting member of the Board, preceded by a one-year, non-voting term as Regent-designate.

Applications for the 2021-22 academic year are being accepted through March 8, 2020. To qualify, the applicant must be in good standing at the time of application and throughout their service as Regent-designate and Regent. Each campus will hold information sessions from Jan. 6 to Feb. 24, with more information here.
