Feeding California
UC Agriculture and Natural Resources advances California’s $56 billion agricultural economy through a network of county offices, research and extension centers, 19,000+ volunteers, and government, community and industry partnerships. We’re generating science-based solutions to challenges like droughts and pests, helping growers produce more food, more sustainably than ever.
Education for life
Beyond our campuses, UC provides practical, accessible courses and educational programs to help Californians of all ages live healthier, more prosperous and more engaged lives.
Tomorrow’s changemakers
Through internships and seminars at the UC Center Sacramento and UCDC, students from every campus participate in the daily workings of State and Federal government, taking a first step toward lifelong careers in public service.
"I tell people: If you’re sick of the potholes on Browning Road, if you want someone to fight for more textbooks and to fix the broken desks, you need someone to push for you, and a way to do that is through voting.”

Unlocking the power of the ballot
UC Freedom Summer began in 2018 in with 25 students from UC Santa Cruz and UC Merced doing voter outreach in the Central Valley. It now includes more than 100 students from all nine undergraduate campuses, as well as some California community colleges, fanning out to encourage civic participation in communities across California.
Caring for our great outdoors
The UC Master Gardener Program has trained 6,200 volunteers to help Californians grow their own sustainable, healthy food at homes, schools and community gardens statewide. And the Climate Stewards and California Naturalist certification courses immerse citizens in the wonders of our unique natural communities.
