Education

The university has one of the most generous financial aid programs in the country, due in large part to the combination of state and federal financial aid our students receive. With 37 percent of our undergraduates — and 44 percent of California undergraduates — receiving Pell Grants (federal grants for low-income students), UC enrolls more Pell recipients than any other top research university in the country. UC receives roughly $1.69 billion for Pell Grants and other federal aid programs, including grants and scholarships, graduate fellowships, loans and work study that help students finance their education.
