UC Santa Cruz’s Center for Agroecology & Sustainable Food Systems, with support from the UC Global Food Initiative, hosted the Sustainable Agriculture Education Association national conference, highlighting hands-on educational efforts that bridge scientific and social issues.
The finalists were selected for potential breakthrough ideas on how to find disease-causing organisms in food – especially salmonella in fresh, minimally processed produce.

The new edition of Teaching Direct Marketing and Small Farm Viability: Resources for Instructors draws on nearly 50 years of experience teaching these skills to beginning organic farmers and gardeners at the UC Santa Cruz Farm & Garden Apprenticeship.
