UC leaders: Grants are available to help DACA holders pay for a permit renewal — but you must act quickly
Mission Asset Fund has made $500,000 available to help those whose DACA permit expires before March 5, 2018 to renew. We strongly encourage you to do so by Oct. 3, 2017. Although the University has filed a lawsuit challenging the legality of the Trump administration’s decision to end DACA, that does not change our advice. It’s the best way to ensure two more years of protection against deportation.

UC provides guidance to DACA recipients on applying for renewal
The University of California today (Sept. 12) sent a letter to the UC community containing guidance for students and other community members who are in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. The letter, signed by UC President Janet Napolitano and all 10 UC chancellors, strongly urges DACA recipients whose permits are set to expire between Sept. 5, 2017 and March 5, 2018, to apply for a two-year renewal. Applications for renewal must be completed by October 5, 2017.
